Landscape Design and Application
Located in Hebil Bay, one of the most exclusive locations of Turkbuku, Bodrum, this landscape design and implementation project covers approximately 1,300 m² and brings together the unique sea views, contemporary architecture, and the natural character of the landscape through an integrated design approach.
The site’s topographic structure, composed of multiple elevations, became one of the most significant design inputs throughout the project. Landscape implementation processes were carried out in coordination with architectural, structural, and infrastructure disciplines, while all construction solutions were developed according to engineering principles and design strategies that respond specifically to the site’s conditions. This approach established strong spatial relationships between different levels, allowing all living areas to be connected through a seamless circulation network where each space complements the other.
Designed to complement the residence, which interprets Bodrum’s simple and natural architectural identity through a contemporary perspective, the garden embodies a character that integrates with the architecture through its material palette, planting composition, and spatial organization. Every detail of the project was carefully considered with the aim of creating outdoor spaces that emphasize the surrounding views, enhance user experience, and provide year-round comfort.
The expansive living area created at the pool level is supported by a sun terrace, seating zones, and a rich planting composition. The Iroko timber cladding applied over a galvanized steel structure, together with the screen fabric shading system, enables comfortable outdoor use even during the summer months. The fireplace designed within this area was conceived as a continuation of the beige natural stone flooring, maintaining material continuity throughout the space.
The yoga area, positioned to overlook the sea view, combines Iroko timber decking with graded river gravel to create a simple, natural, and tranquil atmosphere. The material selection and spatial arrangement were carefully designed to provide users with a peaceful experience in direct connection with nature.
The materials selected throughout the project were chosen not only for their aesthetic qualities but also for their durability and suitability to the regional climate conditions. Corten steel elevation elements were incorporated throughout the landscape design to achieve a contemporary yet natural appearance, while the entrance area features an in-situ cast washed mosaic flooring application. The natural stone material used across the surfaces was continued onto parapet details and LED-illuminated steps, creating a strong material continuity throughout the project.
The Eflani rustic marble selected for the pool finish became one of the key design elements, enhancing the visual impact of the water surface through its natural texture and unique light-reflecting qualities.
The planting design was developed around species adapted to Bodrum’s Mediterranean climate. The planting composition, consisting of Olea europaea, Cupressus sempervirens ‘Pyramidalis’, Bougainvillea, and various shrub groups, creates a natural landscape atmosphere that maintains its vitality throughout the seasons. Dense planting areas were introduced around the auxiliary building to reduce its visual impact, providing both a natural separation and enhanced privacy within the garden.
Movable planters used across the expansive terrace areas soften the impact of hardscape surfaces while introducing a more natural and dynamic character to the spaces. Species such as Russelia equisetiformis, Strelitzia, and Metrosideros, positioned within fiber, terracotta, and metal planters, enrich the terraces through diverse textures and colors while strengthening the visual continuity between architecture and landscape.
The Hebil Bay Landscape Project offers an aesthetic, comfortable, and enduring living environment through its respectful approach to the natural topography, material choices integrated with the architecture, functional outdoor spatial organization, and design philosophy that highlights the Mediterranean planting character.
