Landscape Design and Application

Located in Nisantası, Istanbul, this clinic terrace project aims to create an enhanced user experience through an interior design approach that harmonizes with contemporary architecture and is enriched with natural elements. The enclosed and monotonous atmosphere created by the linear terrace surrounded by high walls has been transformed into a more inviting and tranquil living environment through the warmth of natural materials.

The primary design character is defined by the wall surfaces, where Iroko timber panels were used to emphasize natural texture and material depth. Multi-layered, finely cut natural stone veneers integrated within the timber panels were developed together with concealed LED lighting details, creating depth, rhythm, and a strong visual impact across the surfaces. The balanced combination of timber and natural stone establishes a warm and sophisticated atmosphere that complements the contemporary architectural identity of the clinic.

In the planting design, movable planters with varying heights, textures, and forms were selected according to the intended use scenarios of the seating areas. Green compositions created with plant species adapted to indoor environmental conditions soften the rigid architectural surfaces, allowing users to establish a stronger connection with nature while transforming the terrace into a calming and aesthetically refined outdoor living space.

Within the scope of the project, the existing external air conditioning unit, which disrupted the visual integrity of the space, was reconsidered as an integral part of the overall design. A custom-designed Iroko timber enclosure system conceals the technical equipment in an elegant manner while maintaining the terrace’s overall architectural language and material continuity.

Through the harmonious integration of natural materials, planting design, and lighting details, this project reflects a holistic landscape and design approach that transforms a limited terrace area into a prestigious and contemporary outdoor experience focused on enhancing user comfort.
