Landscape Design and Application

Located within a historic building overlooking the Bosphorus in Aşiyan, this private residence landscape project aims to preserve the existing architectural character while establishing a timeless landscape that is in harmony with the identity of the building.

With minimal intervention to the original character of the historic structure, a planting approach that seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings was adopted. A restrained and balanced landscape composition was developed to complement and reinforce the building’s historic character.

Modular planters, designed in varying dimensions and materials, were incorporated into the landscape to define different areas of use while enriching the overall planting composition. At the entrance, a work of art was integrated into the planting scheme to create a strong visual focal point.

The material palette was selected to convey a natural and timeless character. Cotto paving and iroko decking surfaces are combined with raised Corten steel elements and a Corten ornamental pool, establishing a balanced material language between the architecture and the landscape.

Throughout the project, the aim was to create a calm and refined outdoor experience that preserves the spirit of the historic building, establishes a strong relationship with the Bosphorus view, and integrates natural planting textures with contemporary landscape elements.
