Betula’s Approach
Growing populations, excessive consumption, and marketing strategies that relentlessly encourage this consumption are rapidly depleting the limited resources available to us.
This reality makes it essential for everyone who shares this planet to take responsibility for protecting and recycling these increasingly scarce resources.
At Betula, as practitioners within the landscape discipline, we are committed to prioritizing the sustainability of projects at every scale and approaching it as a fundamental design principle.
Minimizing energy and water consumption is a key consideration throughout every stage of our projects—from site analysis and concept development to construction, detailing, and implementation.
For us, landscape architecture is far more than the design of a garden. It is the holistic integration of topography, vegetation, living systems, natural resources, and cultural values to create long-lasting, aesthetic, and functional outdoor environments that enhance quality of life at different scales while preserving ecological balance.
For large-scale developments, we collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including engineers, architects, and urban and regional planners—to develop nature-based solutions that contribute to public health and expand access to high-quality outdoor spaces for everyone.
Our experience encompasses the design and implementation of urban-scale environments, including urban open spaces, public spaces, recreational areas, coastal landscapes, residential environments, and transportation corridors.
At the same time, our core area of expertise lies in smaller-scale projects—such as residential, hospitality, and office developments—where the end-user experience is a central priority.
Residential projects require a meticulous and user-oriented design approach, as they have a direct impact on the quality of life of their occupants. With more than 30 years of experience, we carefully analyze user expectations and needs, developing aesthetic, functional, and sustainable solutions tailored to each project.
For us, residential landscape design is not limited to planting design. It is about creating high-quality, comfortable outdoor living spaces that bring everyday life closer to nature.
From the earliest stages of concept development, we approach every project as a comprehensive and coordinated design process. This includes developing 1:100-scale overall design plans that respond to project requirements and user needs while resolving the relationship between the landscape and architectural structure, as well as integrating functional areas, circulation scenarios, and infrastructure systems.
The process continues through 1:20 and 1:10-scale construction details, ensuring that every aspect of the landscape is carefully resolved and documented.
At every stage, we work in close coordination with architecture, construction, infrastructure, and other engineering disciplines to develop solutions that are feasible, durable, technically sound, and of the highest quality.
