Landscape Design and Application

Located in Levazım, this residential garden project was developed around the preservation of the existing spatial layout and the integration of the landscape with the architectural structure. Without making any interventions to the existing hardscape, the character of the outdoor space was reinterpreted solely through planting design and carefully selected art objects.

The existing soil areas and reinforced concrete parapets were treated as the primary surfaces for the planting design. Taking into consideration the site’s climatic conditions, microclimate, and the character of the existing architecture, a planting composition was developed using long-lasting species well adapted to the specific conditions of the site.

The planting scheme was designed through the controlled combination of varying forms, textures, heights, and color values, creating a more natural and layered landscape atmosphere that balances the rigid character of the existing architectural geometry. Planting introduced within the reinforced concrete parapets softens the architectural boundaries, establishing a more permeable and cohesive relationship between the building and the garden.

The landscape composition was complemented by a selection of accentuating artworks. Rather than functioning solely as decorative elements, the art objects were positioned as focal points within the planting composition, enhancing spatial perception and strengthening the overall character of the garden. The contrast between the organic character of the planting and the more defined and controlled forms of the artworks gives the garden a distinctive visual identity.

Ultimately, the project presents a simple, balanced, and contemporary outdoor environment in which planting and art are brought together while preserving the existing structural elements. Guided by a principle of minimal intervention, the landscape was conceived not to overshadow the character of the existing architecture, but rather as an additional design layer that complements it and enriches the spatial experience.
