Landscape Design and Application

Completed in Seba Golkoy, Bodrum, this landscape design and implementation project establishes a timeless and functional outdoor environment that integrates seamlessly with its surroundings, taking the natural architectural character of the residence as its primary point of reference. Throughout the design process, the lifestyle and spatial requirements of a family with children were carefully analyzed to create outdoor living spaces that balance aesthetics with functionality.

Natural materials played a central role in the spatial organization. Handmade natural clay bricks were laid in a herringbone pattern throughout the garden surfaces, creating a warm and richly textured landscape. Rustic green Eflani marble was incorporated into paving details and LED-illuminated steps, where the strong visual character of natural stone is complemented by contemporary lighting solutions. The use of corten steel edging elements further reinforces the design language, developing a natural patina over time and achieving a harmonious dialogue with the surrounding materials.

Designed as one of the key social spaces within the garden, the outdoor bar serves as a focal point for gathering, offering an inviting setting for sunset and evening entertaining.

The planting design responds to Bodrum’s Mediterranean climate while considering long-term water efficiency. Durable, climate-adapted, and low-maintenance plant species were selected to ensure long-term sustainability. The planting composition combines species including Olea europaea, Cupressus sempervirens ‘Pyramidalis’, and Morus kagayamae, bringing together a variety of textures, colors, and forms to create a vibrant and natural garden atmosphere throughout the year.

Natural-look terracotta planters and contemporary fiber planters used across the terrace areas strengthen the transition between architecture and landscape while serving as both aesthetic and functional complements to the selected planting scheme.

Natural material palette, user-oriented spatial solutions, and ecologically responsive planting strategy, the project demonstrates a refined outdoor living environment in which architecture and landscape exist as complementary elements of a unified design.
